The city of Cape Coral, Florida emerged in Southwest Florida during the late 50’s and 60’s, mostly as wetlands and has now grown into Lee County’s fastest growing city, as well as one of the safest cities in the nation.

In 1970, with less than 300 votes, Cape Coral’s residents agreed to incorporate the city and make it Lee County’s second largest city, preceded only by its nearest neighbor, Fort Myers. During the 80’s and 90’s, as more people discovered Southwest Florida, particularly Cape Coral, the city became a treasure trove for new residents. With simple homes and rentals to multi-million dollar waterfront estates, Cape Coral has become known for its dynamic lifestyle and wealth.

Having more canals than Venice, Italy, Cape Coral’s 400+ miles of canals are a dream come true for fishing and boating enthusiasts alike, especially since many of the Cape Coral canals provide direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Of course, the other Florida luxuries are available as well, such as golf courses, parks and beaches. It’s not hard to see why so many residents find this to be a little slice of Paradise.
